Yes, it's been awhile..........

I'm back Blog! Yes, it's been awhile and I apologize for that! I'm not sure where the time went. It's true, time flies as we get older (not that I'm old or anywhere near that).

I could be called a clutz I guess. I fell in January and hurt a disc in my back. Then, in Mid-April, I was in an accident that totaled my Lexus. The accident really slowed me down and I've only gotten to golf 1 time since then and it wasn't a great idea to do so 1 month after the accident. Unfortunately, I injured another disc in my back. I had a lot of injury to my left leg with the soft tissue. I had hematoma's larger than Golf Balls on the outer aspect (of which I still have bruising!). I'm Thankful to be alive after that accident, which was at 65 mph on the interstate and caused by a moron (I could think of many names for that man but moron is the cleanest) that decided to slow down to 20-30 mph because he was lost (instead of pulling over onto the shoulder). This was in the lane of traffic mind you, and was just over a hill which was blind for all other drivers. NOT COOL!

In between my ordeals, I went to the LPGA Kraft Nabisco Championship in Palm Springs, CA. I ended up flying & meeting up with @Ouchieee at O'Hare and onward we went. This was my first time at the KNC. We rented a pretty nice Condo (once we found the right one that is). Several of the Condo areas were similar in layout and bldgs. We were first knocking on the door of yes.....the wrong Condo! I'm sure we scared the lady who was inside however, neither MaryAnn nor I look like burglars or felons of any sort. MaryAnn and I had great laughs about that incident (after we got done feeling a bit stupid that is)! Also in Palm Springs, we were able to meet up with some awesome friends whom I met on Twitter, from Winnepeg Canada. Yep, Lynne & Linda from OutnAboutTravel. What awesome gals! I also met another golf lover from the UK, Joyce. She was a stitch as was Lance Vickers. I so love great accents like Joyce & Lance both have! We all chummed around for the golf tourney and what fun it was! I also met some great friends of MaryAnn's, whom live in Palm Springs & we tried many great eatery's together. We also golfed Mission Hills that Monday after the tourney, on the Pete Dye course!

Let's see, other updates.........
I've gotten a new Lexus, which is getting quite the workout as of late with travel for work.
My baby Peanut is now a year and a half old, and with that comes added vim & vigor!
We are in a drought status here in the midwest and have had extremely warm temps for more days than not. At this rate, I'm looking forward to fall. 100 degrees every day with high humidity does not make for pleasurable outdoor time.
I've taken in several minor league baseball games at our awesome new stadium here locally, which sits right on the good 'Ol Mississippi River. It's a great view and there's usually a nice breeze off the water.
And, I'm going to start golfing again now that my body is mostly recovered from the accident! Yay!

So Blog, let's not be apart so long next time!

  1. Hey D, it was good to get caught up with you. I had forgotten about knocking on that poor old lady's door and scaring the you know what out of her. There is a BIG difference between a right turn and a left turn. LOL. I had a great time in PS! Let's do it again!
