CN Canadian Women's Open Aug 26-29th

This week, the LPGA will be in Winnipeg, Canada for the CN Canadian Women's Open. Suzann Pettersen is the defending Champion who won last year with a -15 on her scorecard.

She posted rounds of 65-68-66 and 70. Her margin of victory made some take notice, since she defeated five players by 5 strokes to claim the win. In a 5 way tie for 2nd place were; Momoko Ueda, Morgan Pressel, Ai Miyazato, Angela Stanford and Karrie Webb.

Cristie Kerr had finished 18th in this tourney last year, but I'm sure that will change this week. Cristie comes off a tourney that cost her the keeping of the title of World's number one in the rankings.

Ai Miyazato reclaimed that title after her win at the Safeway Classic. I look for this to be a battle that will have both Cristie and Ai both at the top as well as Suzann Pettersen who has yet to win this year. Suzann has had several 2nd place finishes however, we will have to wait and see if this will be the tournament that she holds it together for. Suzann has had 9 top 10 finishes in 13 starts this season. She s ranked 16 in her driving abilities with an average of just over 259!

The CN Candian Women's Open began in 2001. The charity this week is the Children's Hospital Foundation of Manitoba. The tourney will be a 72 hole format, which will be back to normal after last week's 54 hole.
