A day of changes at the RICOH Women's British Open

Add talent, desire, wind and rain and you get one thing.....Links Golf. At Royal Birkdale today, it was anything but mundane. While the projected cut looks to be made at +4, there are still a few finishing and this will not be official until play is complete.

The most surprising is defending champion Catriona Matthew, who will miss the cut at +12 for the tourney. Also missing the cut are; Beatriz Recari, Candie Kung, Karen Stupples, Jean Reynolds, Jane Park, Helen Alfredsson, Kristy McPherson and Amanda Blumenhurst to name a few.

Lookout for those on the climb; Yani Tseng finished the day in first place at -8 after her 2nd round today at 4 under. Cristie Kerr is in a tie for 2nd place with Amy Yang and Brittany Lincicome at -4 overall. 5th place also has a trio of; Suzann Pettersen, Sun Young Yoo and Juli Inkster at -3. Fan favorite Christina Kim is tied in 8th place at -2, after a round of -4  68 today! Also in 8th place are Momoko Ueda, Hee Kyung Seo, Katherine Hull, MJ Hur and Jiyai Shin (#1 in current world rankings).

One thing is for sure, these ladies have had some contending weather to deal with at Royal Birkdale. While it's a surprise to see Catriona miss the cut, this is shaping up to be an exciting tournament! While Yani holds a 4 stroke lead ahead of the rest of the pack, Morgan Pressel and Paula Creamer have both fallen back into a tie for 49th place. This is only round two and there's 36 more holes to be played before our new champion of the RICOH Women's British Open.

Remember to catch the action Live on ESPN for 3rd & 4th round coverage at 10:00 - 1:00 pm ET
