Ladies will be playing for World Ranking

Jiyai Shin has it, Ai Miyazato has had it, and Cristie Kerr has had it. All too brief a term for Cristie Kerr. Shes has the focus set to get that title back. It may take a couple tourney wins to do so however, she is ready, willing and able!

Cristie currently ranks 3rd behind Jiyai Shin and Ai Miyazato. Jiyai who is fresh off a win at last week's Evian Masters is ready for the challenge. Kerr has played well at Royal Birkdake in the past, with a 5th place finish in 2005 despite the weather endured during that final round. She then tied for 2nd place when the tourney was played at Royal Lytham in 2006.

An underdog if you will, is Melissa Reid who got her first win on The Ladies European Tour in May, is more than confident going into Royal Birkdale this week. Paula Creamer on the other hand is thankful to not have the question asked or deal with the scrutiny this week of when she was going to finally win a major. This question use to permeate its way into every tournament. It is now one that no longer need be asked after her win at The US Open.

Again, you can catch televised coverage on ESPN, throughout the next four days!
