TPC Boston is home to the Deutsche Bank Championshipbthis week. And while the weather was driven by Hurricane Earl, the golf balls weren't. Yesterdays 2nd round was expected to be the best weather wise for this tourney.
After the 2nd round, Zach Johnson & Jason Day shared the lead. They were able to finish before the weather arrived. While Johnson was trying to firm up his case for the Ryder Cup, by knocking in putts from every direction. Tiger Woods on the other hand, put his chances in a bit of jeopardy, with 4 bogeys in the first 6 holes. He did fight back to finish at 1 over 72.
Players had to withstand outbursts of rain, compliments of Earl. Jason Day who was the 36 hole leader at last week's Barclay's, shot a 30 on the back 9. For now, Jason hopes the weather holds out and he noted that "there's a lot of deep scores out there". He sat at -8 63 after round two, sharing the lead with Zach. Currently, he is in a tie for 4th and has not yet started his 3rd round.
Charlie Wi and Brent Snedecker however have, and Snedecker leads at -13 with Wi one stroke behind at -9. Luke Donald is also at 9 under through 15 holes. Zach will be teeing it up with Day in a matter of minutes.
Mickelson, who missed the cut last week at the Barclays, is -7 through 14 holes today. Last week's winner Matt Kuchar, has not started his 3rd round yet and is currently at -5, which puts him tied for 28th. Tiger however, is -5 through 17 to bring him to 5 under for the tourney. Tiger loves a challenge and being 6 behind the leader, is not a deficit for a Sunday challenge!
Now, I must share my viewing time today with Golf and the start of College Football season. Nearing fall season is such a great time of year. I am a fan of many sports however Golf rules and then College Football followed by NFL Football are right behind.
Now, Go Hit Some Balls (or watch your favorite College Football Game).........
