Congrats to Jim Furyk on his Fed Ex Cup win! Jim Furyk was 8 for 8 out of the sand on his final round on sunday. He stayed focused and poised on one thing, and that was to maintain the lead through to the end, which he did. With a huge par save on the final hole, the deal was sealed!
From the unfortunate disqualification from over sleeping at Whistling Straights recently to his $10 million Fed Ex Cup win sunday, are polar opposites. Furyk, who doesn't show alot of emotion on the course; could not hold back the walk toward the gallery in the stands, fist pumping and all! His wife greeted him on the 18th green and the smiles and embrace will stay in the minds of many for a long time.
Furyk shot a par 70 on his final round to finish at 8 under, just one stroke ahead of Luke Donald. Retief Goosen finished in 3rd place, at -6. Nick Watney and Paul Casey finished in a tie for 4th.
In regards to the Fed Ex Cup Standings, Matt Kuchar finished 2nd behind Furyk. He finished just 152 points behind Furyk. Matt went into the Tour Championship in the lead of the Fed Ex Cup Standings. The Tour Championship finish however, was not as he had hoped at +5 for a 25th place finish. Now, don't feel too sorry for him since his 2nd place in the Fed Ex Cup Standings earned him a cool $3 million! He led the Tour this year in final round scoring average among those having at least 15 final round appearances. He's had a great season, with 5 top 3 finishes. He's had a few perks along the way, with his recent invite to sit in the owner's suite for the Atlanta Falcons game last Sunday.
For those gamblers, the odds on Furyk were said to be 15/1 and a $100 bet turned into $1500 for those who chose him to win!
