I REMEMBER.....9/11/01

There was no provocation, no warning, no anything but complete chaos and tragedy. To those who lost loved ones, my heart still goes out to you today. I share some photos from my personal visit to ground zero several months after that horrific day of 9/11/01.

I went to Ground Zero in May of 2003, not knowing what to expect or how I would feel. I stood at the site where chain link fence surrounded the huge hole left in the ground where the twin towers once stood. There was still much debri inside that area (nearly 2 yrs later). There was a steel beam that bared the image of a Cross. The placques that were put up beared all the names of those whose lives were lost. As I stood there and read through the names, silent tears flowed. Going there was in memorium to the lives lost and I cannot explain the feeling, the emotions, the ability to stand where so many fell was completely overwhelming.

I took pictures of every placque bearing
EVERY name. The placques were all in a line as shown in the pic to the right. I saw others there as I, who wept as the feelings of emotion overcame our souls. There are no words that can express the moving, emotional journey I had taken with my visit to Ground Zero.

On this day of Remembrance, I THANK the Men & Women of our armed services, for being so selfless in their willingness to give their own lives to fight for OUR freedom. I thank ALL of the people who searched and worked at the site for the literally years following that horrible tragedy.

As I give you a couple more pics, I ask that you take a moment today to either sit in prayer or stand in silence, and REMEMBER.

GOD Bless the USA!
