After a weather delay this afternoon, play resumed at the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village in Dublin Ohio. The delay did not affect Rickie Fowler. Decked in bright royal blue, I refer to him as today's blue demon. He maintains a 3 stroke lead at 16 under. Going after his heels are R. Barnes & T. Petrovic tied at 2nd place. Is this a tourney for Rickie's one might ask? Justin Rose's recent work with @FearlessGolf appears to be paying off as well. He remains at 12 under and holds 4th place alone.
Another that I call part of the "Young Guns" of today, is Rory McIlroy. He ended up closing the day with a tie for 12th with Matt Kuchar. Lefty is also in a tie for 12th as is S. Cink and J. Day. Returning from time away from the game due to injuries, is V.J. Singh. Not a horrible finish tied for 17th all things considered.
With the recent cloud lifted off of him somewhat, Tiger Woods is in a tie for 20th. He'll have alot of room to make up for on Sunday. Although, I did LOVE the pink shirt today. And no, he wasn't just in touch with his softer side; this was done in support of June being National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I commend him on this, as one would have thought Lefty might wear pink all week. No disrespect to him for wearing red today though.
Tomorrow will be moving day for many as they try to bring their A game and advance. Tournament play will begin 90 minutes earlier than originally scheduled to accomodate for the delay today, per the announcement during today's afternoon play. If the weather holds out, we may have ourselves a first time tournament winner.
