While we've gotten through the first two rounds; today was much different. Storms rolled in and by 1:44 pm, play was suspended. It was thought possibly, that it could resume around after the rains had stopped however, the course was much too wet. Another disappointment was not getting to see Fan Fave Christina Kim in the booth with Tom Abbott and Beth Daniel. Let's hope she gets the chance to do this tomorrow. She brings a great presence to the LPGA and it's easy to see why fans love her! I also need to give a shout out to Paulie (and I won't tell everyone that you carry a PINK bag). Paulie is Jean Reynolds caddie and they are both on Twitter! You can follow them via @TheTourCaddieOG and @TheJeanReynolds. Very sweet, and just good people!
Play will resume at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, with the finishing of the 3rd round. It is not decided yet, if there will be pairing changes and/or going off of #1 & #10 Tees after that. We will wait to see what tomorrow will bring. If bad weather rolls in again tomorrow, we could see the tourney shortened. Current standings are Christie Kerr & MJ Hur tied for the lead, with Anna Nordqvist & Amy Yang tied for 3rd followed by Morgan Pressel in 5th.
It will be a given that it's going to be a loooooong day! We will see what condition the course is in. The driving range opens at 5:30 a.m. With the rains softening the course, it may be a given that players will be able to play aggressive and go straight for the pins!
Me thinks it's time to wind down and try to make myself go to sleep early this eve. I will update on Monday considering tomorrow may run into Monday! Crikey's Mate, the thought of that is frightening!
